Strength training protects against pain.

Study results: Pain

The study showed that regular strength training reduced pain by 50% in 6 months. 341 participants reported some pain at the start of the study but after training for 6 months one in three had no pain whatsoever. A reduction in pain means an improvement in the quality of life. This applied particularly to participants whose pain had been so severe that it had reduced their ability to work or significantly constrained what they could do during their leisure time. Training allowed participants to reduce these constraints by 50%.

Why does more strength mean less pain?

Pain, particularly back and neck pain are often caused by weak muscles. Medication, injections and massage can help but do not provide a cure. Strength training tackles the root cause and helps the body stay strong and resilient. Stronger muscles act like a corset protecting and supporting sensitive parts of the body such as intervertebral discs.

The participants - "Just what I expected from a good workout"

More strength, more stamina, better quality of life: The participants in our study on health-oriented strength training set out with very different goals. Today, almost all of them state: Kieser Training works. We followed six of the over 500 participants closely during the half-year study:
